Xbox Live Gold has undergone many changes over the years. And, starting September 14, 2023, Xbox Live Gold will evolve into Xbox Game Pass Core. This makeover will give you access to online multiplayer, a collection of over 25 games and exclusive membership deals.

What will happen to my current Xbox Live Gold subscription?
Xbox Live Gold members will automatically switch to Xbox Game Pass Core on September 14, 2023. This is an automated process and you don’t need to do anything.
Additionally, there is currently no change to pricing for the Xbox Live Gold subscription.
What is Xbox Game Pass Core?
Xbox Live Gold has been around for over 20 years, offering Xbox players the most advanced online gaming with some of the world’s largest online multiplayer games. In 2017, Xbox launched Xbox Game Pass, which provides players with a curated library of games from first-party and third-party game studios.
Now, on September 14, 2023, Xbox will merge Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass into Xbox Game Pass Core.
What happens to games I claim as game with Gold?
The monthly free games for Xbox Live Gold members will end on September 1, 2023. Any Xbox One games you previously redeemed as part of Game with Gold will remain in your library and be accessible as long as you have an active Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Additionally, any Xbox 360 games you’ve previously redeemed through the game will remain in your game library and available to play, regardless of your subscription status.
What games are included with an Xbox Game Pass Core subscription?
Xbox Game Pass Core will feature more than 25 games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and third-party publishers. There will be a variety of games to ensure everyone can play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Below is a list of games that will be included at launch, with more to be announced by September 14, 2023.

New games will be added to the collection about 2-3 times per year.
